Ford Mustang

This brilliant green bolide is homage to what is likely the greatest chase scene in movie history. Shot throughout San Francisco and Brisbane to the south, the real star of “Bullitt” is not “The King of Cool” Steve McQueen but his 1968 Highland Green Mustang fastback. The car became so revered that Ford has occasionally offered a special edition Mustang Bullitt, but what’s seen here is considerably more rare. This one is authorized by Steve McQueen’s gearhead son Chad, is built by Gateway Classic Mustang, and uses a 450 horsepower Ford Racing 347 V8, 5-speed transmission, disc brakes and more. Talk about merging the best of new and old…
