Monographs & More

"Ferrari 250 LM, as seen in "The Art of Performance"

A number of collectors have commissioned the creation of custom-designed and hand-bound monographs. These are limited production books devoted to a single subject such as a specific car, or an entire collection, and are typically done to share one’s passion with family and friends. For instance, one client gave monographs out as Christmas present keepsakes to the participants of an event he organized, while another memorialized an event in the Middle East in which one of his cars participated in.

Each monograph is very personalized, designed and produced to reflect the commissioning client’s tastes, and their car(s) or collection. All photo shoots are specific to the car(s) and client, and can reflect other parts or passions of their life by highlighting their home or estate, or a location with special meaning. The text is normally tailored to thoroughly cover a car’s history and/or parts of the client’s life story, and usually contains a specific or personal viewpoint and/or memories they wish to convey to friends and relatives.

"1955 Mercedes Benz 300 SLS and 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55"

The production process is done with equal care. Cover stock materials and design is unique to each project, and the finished book can include a slipcase made from a variety of luxurious, modern materials. Paper stock is carefully chosen, and the layout and design is individually created.

Using variable imaging technology, all books are individually numbered in the printing process, making each of them unique. An added touch is having individual messages and/or specific photos printed in each monograph, thus truly personalizing it for each recipient.

The final cost depends upon time, materials, page count, the number printed, and ancillaries such as having a slipcase or not. Should such an undertaking be too excessive for a client’s budget or taste, a custom photo shoot and fine art prints, a portfolio set and/or notecard sets have been popular options.

If a monograph, custom photo shoot, portfolio set and/or notecards is of interest for your car or collection, you can contact me here. Thank you!

Portfolio Sets

I have created three portfolio sets. The first one was on the startling Alfa Romeo Brera prototype, produced in an edition of three. The first was given to the car’s creators Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, the second was sold, and the third resides in my office.

Notecard Sets

Coming Soon: Two new notecard sets, “Pagani Meets SF” and “Spaghetti Westerns.” The former celebrates the Pagani Huayra’s first visit to America and San Francisco, while the latter shows exotic Italians in classic southwest landscapes.
